Ordering.
If you want one of my rods, your first step should be to get in contact. That way we can have a chat about what you want from your rod, or even better and much more fun arrange to meet up and fish a few of my rods. That way I get to see exactly what you like and you get the chance to inspect my work. It is also a good idea to bring your favourite rods to the meeting so I can cast them to get a feel for your current preferences. At that first consultation I will show you colour sticks and various grip shapes as well a finished rods so that you can begin to work out what you want cosmetically, and agree a delivery date. (Currently about 10 weeks.)
Once we have decided on a specification, I will require a 25% deposit to start the build, the remainder to be paid before delivery. Then your new rod will be hand delivered (the best part of my job) or if that is not practical, sent, very well packed, to your door.
Pricing.
All my rods are custom built, so giving a price list would be difficult, so I shall try to give you an idea of how I come to my costs:
As an example, a 7'6” two tip two piece rod with nickel-silver hardware and two colour whippings would be about £350. Longer or shorter rods would be the same.
Some things cost more. Three piece rods, swelled butts, cane ferrules (when I have finished testing), and intermediate whippings.
Some things cost less. Single tip rods, one piece rods (up to 6' - try a Paul Young Smidgen) one colour whippings and aluminium reel seats.
Rods come supplied in their own canvas bag and a variety of tubes can be supplied at cost. From an ugly but effective plastic tube for less than a tenner to a lovely leather or machined brass and aluminium tube for about £40.

To give you an idea, none of the rods you can see on this site would cost you more than £475.
